Revisiting another Spring 2014 trend, this time it's geometrics. This one overlaps a bit with the black & white color trend too.  Here are some items that I like:
4. Vince Camuto belt / 5. Material Girl earrings / 6. R&K Originals dress /
7. Panacea cuff / 8. H&M dress / 9. BCBGeneration crossbody /

FabFitFun Spring Box Review

I must say I'm so glad I decided to subscribe to FitFabFun's seasonal boxes (this is my only subscription box), it's fun to get all these great goodies four times a year.  The Spring box came on Saturday and I'm thrilled!
Here's what was inside:
1. Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo Invisible Spray - $25 - tried this Saturday night and it's pretty good.  This Tresemme is my favorite (I've tried Aloxxi's too and didn't like it at all), this one was very light going on and dried quickly, has a faint lemon smell.  I'm not sure it's worth almost $20 more than the Tresemme version, but it's good.
2. Cult Gaia Turband - $48 - it's the cherry print item, this is a pretty cool product. It's basically a slim, long scarf with a wire inside that you can bend to secure.  I need to fiddle around with it more, but I'm thinking this might be a Summer staple!
These are YUM! and perfect with salsa! That's how I ate them!
Really light, easy to apply, not goopy or too "dry" feeling. I really liked the way it primed my face for makeup. And I love it has SPF 30!
5. Kai Perfume Oil - $48  Great for Spring! I'm not a huge floral perfume person, but I'm going to work this into my perfume rotation.
6. Merrithew Mini Stability Ball and DVD - $28.94  - I'm super excited to try this out!
Haven't had a chance to try this yet, but I'm intrigued.
These are fun and relaxing, with organic menthol and eucalyptus, I'm really pleased because this is not something I would have bought on my own.

For a grand total value of $217.91!

Again, just like the Winter box, I'm really happy with the variety, value and introducing items to me that I might not have sought out on my own.

Spring 2014 Trends - Green

Another Spring 2014 color trend here.  This time it's green (perfect for St. Patrick's Day too)!  Green always feels "right" in Spring, especially the hues that mimic the new growth on the trees and flowers.  Here are my picks to add a little green to your closet.

Spring 2014 Trends - Orange

It's time for another Spring 2014 color trend, this time let's tackle orange.  This one has been around for a while and will stick around into next fall.  So rest assured anything you pick up now in this color will stay relevant for the next couple of seasons!

Spring 2014 Trends - Black and White

Let's go back in time, way back to September of last year, when I did my week long roundup of the trends for Spring 2014 fresh off the runway at NYFW.  Remember?  Well, the first post was about the color trends.  Now that it's (almost) Spring, let's revisit those color trend picks with some of my favorite finds available right now. Starting out with Black and White.
This is such a great trend because you most likely have black and white pieces in your wardrobe you can put on and roll.  Hello white jeans and a black tee!  But you can also pick up a great accessory to add a little oomph.  Here are some things that caught my eye (each under $100):

1. H&M Top / 2. Aldo bag  / 3. Kate Spade Saturday necklace / 4. J.Crew shorts
5. J.Crew silk tee / 6. Old Navy flip flops / 7. Lodis Los Feliz iPhone case
8. A. J. Morgan sunglasses / 9. adidas sneakers (I have these and love them)
10. C. Wonder necklace / 11. Emperia tote / 12. J.Crew Factory owl tee
13. Sole Society hat / 14. Tommy Bahama cover up
15. Kate Spade umbrella 16. Jessica McClintock clutch

Another color trend tomorrow...

My Take - Chanel Spring 2014 Necklace

The very large pearl neck pieces shown on the Chanel Spring 2014 runway were pretty bold and cool take on traditional pearl necklaces (they were made to resemble headphones).  Then I ran across this little number that has the same vibe, but in a a more subtle, wearable way.

My Take - Celine Spring 2014 Handbag

Top: Celine Spring 2014

Celine always introduces serious "it" bags every season.  For the recent Spring 2014 collection, this geometric-shaped handle bag was featured heavily.  Of course it's going to be extremely pricey (duh), but I like the idea of the gold, geometric handle playing against the black leather.  I ran across this gorgeous Jonathan Adler tote that I think is a pretty awesome alternative.

Spring 2014 NYFW Trend - Line Drawing

Last but not least, this trend is pretty self explanatory.  It can be fun sketches or more intricate patterns with a very clean sophistication.  I love it!  Make sure you keep checking out my Spring 2014 Pinterest board for my latest picks (London and now Milan)!

Spring 2014 NYFW Trend - Color

Here are the trends that everyone gets jazzed about - the color trends!  I'm going to say (again) that cobalt is sticking around (yay)!  Some other familiar colors from seasons past make an appearance too (orange, the dash of lime/neon green/yellow, green).  The biggest emerging color trend I see is purple, which is represented in all of it's incarnations from almost-blue to almost-burgundy.  Purple is tricky.  In my experience, people have very strong reactions to it.  They either love or hate it, rarely is a person indifferent.  Without further ado, here are the Spring 2014 NYFW color trends:

Are you excited about these? How do you feel about the purple trend?  Make sure you keep checking out my Spring 2014 Pinterest board for my latest picks (London is off to a fabulous start)!  Tomorrow we tackle another trend.

Spring 2014 NYFW Trend - Layers

As promised, this week I'm going to bring you some trends from New York Fashion Week that I think are important and most of all, relevant to us "regular" gals (yes, crop tops are a trend, but not one that many of us can pull off in our office/Mom/non-size-0 lives).  First up, layers.  More specifically, sheer layers.  The most relevant and wearable part of this trend are the sheer jackets, which I'm kind of digging.
What do you think?  Tomorrow we tackle another trend!

Happy Weekend! Spring 2014 NYFW Trends Next Week!

I've been pinning day and night and now that NYFW is basically at an end, my Spring 2014 Pinterest board is up-to-date.  I've been sifting through all of the information and coming up with some trends.  Good news, it looks like all of the Resort 2014 trends I highlighted earlier, are sticking around (snakeskin, windowpane, color, Birkenstock-like slides, sweatshirts) yay!  There are a few emerging trends too.  I'll have a roundup of all of those next week, just in time for London Fashion Week!

Oh and in case you missed it Jimmy Kimmel did a great "Lie Witness News" segment interviewing people outside of Lincoln Center, asking them about made up fashion designers.  It is hilarious!  Enjoy and have a great weekend!
