I really was trying to not buy anything this month, but then I pulled out my shorts for the warm weather we've had and, surprise (not really) I couldn't wear one pair.  But that's a sad story for another day.  Anyway, I needed some shorts.

What I Wore Wednesday 10-9-2013

Seriously, I have been slacking off in the dressing department lately. I've been heavily into decluttering, cleaning and just lazy about getting dolled up.  So I've been heavy into yoga pants/tee shirt combos.  Hey, give me a break :o)  Here's one outfit I wore in the past week.

What I Bought - June 2013

1. Mossimo Cardigan from Target - $6.99 (clearance)

2. Gap Cardigan (the prettiest neon pink) - $10.99 (sale) - similar

3. Gap Striped Mix Sweatshirt - $32.99 (sale) - this is the coolest mix of sweatshirt front and woven button down on the cuffs and back and it's so cozy.  I actually saw it one week, tried it on and liked it but left without buying it.  I found myself constantly thinking about it and the next week I went back and snagged it.  They have a dress version which looks like pjs or loungewear - not as cute for sure.
4.  Target boys oatmeal heather tee - $6 (not shown)

Gap vs. Tory Burch - Get A Jump On Fall!

Loved all the beetle/scarab motifs in Tory Burch's Fall 2013 collection (see my Fall 2013 Pinterest board with all my picks).  Imagine how delighted was I when I stumbled upon this lady bug print shirt from the Gap available right now!

What I Bought - February 2013

I thought I would start rounding up my clothing purchases on the blog each month.  I love when other bloggers do this, so I thought I would jump in and do it too!  I'm going to hit you with three months over the next three days (and get caught up).  Now, first a little about the "B" word - Budget!  I don't have a set monthly budget for clothes specifically.  I have a very strict food/household goods budget that I stick to.  I'm so militant about staying within my means (nothing is worth the stress of consumer debt).  I don't work outside the home (I work part-time from my home and when I do have to go to the mill I have a company uniform I wear).  So really my needs are slim (meanwhile, my wants are out of control - ha!).  I like to keep things simple and basic and I can't stand a crammed closet.  I generally buy good quality items that I know will last a while.  Therefore, I rarely spend more than $100 a month on clothes/beauty items.  This month was an exception because I won a gift card to Coldwater Creek!  Here's what I got in February:

Loving these looks from Gap...

I'm so in love with these looks from Gap's Spring 2011 advertising.  They are the very definition of chic and simple!  Very inspiring!  I must get my hands on those flare jeans below!
