My Five - Vera Wang Spring 2013

Loved this collection, loved how the fabrics were embellished, luxurious (almost touching on a vintage upholstery vibe).  She started with all white ensembles, then it flowed seamlessly to blue, green, lime and finishing with white gold.  Plenty of prints, lace and embroidery.  Ah Vera, you make me very happy!  Here are my picks, enjoy!

Trend takeaways:
1.  Bermuda shorts
2.  Blue, Kelly Green and Gold sticking around
3. Wide leg pants

My Five - Vera Wang Fall 2012

Lots of grey and black, punched up with some orange and blue, in this collection.  There was a great architectural print and geometric embellishments, I always love the arty mix of textures that she presents in each collection.  Here are my picks:

Vera Wang's New LA Home

As promised, here's a peek inside Vera Wang's Los Angeles mid-century modern home which was built in 1967.  Wang tapped LA designer Steve Hermann for a 3 year renovation of the home.  It's modern and sophisticated, just like Vera.  Check it out:

This woman is 62!  She looks amazing!

Her closet filled with her signature black and grey hues.

My Five - Vera Wang Pre-Fall 2012

I've professed my love/admiration for Vera Wang before here, but I'll say it again - I just love her and her style.  I love her lack of pretension, her sophistication, her clear vision for her brand and let's face it kids, this woman does not age.  Vera is going to be the subject of two posts today.  First up my picks from her pre-fall collection which features lots of layers, knits, mixture of textures and swirly prints.  (Stay tuned later for some snaps of her new Los Angeles home)

Uniform Dressing 5:1

Yay, Uniform Dressing is back!  For the rest of the month I will tackle the black blazer, it's a great staple to have in your closet.  I'm almost embarrassed to admit I never owned one until this past Spring (I know, I know).  Being a "creative type" in a "creative career", I always felt that suits, more specifically, suits that weren't patterned or textured, just weren't very interesting.  But trust me, a black blazer can be very interesting and totally versatile (I only wish I had been open to the possibilities earlier)!  This week I'm going to tackle the classic black blazer/jeans combo.  There are a million ways to work this look, here are just three ways I styled it up.  Enjoy!

On a side note, check out the blog post Vera Wang recently wrote about her "uniform"!  Love her!
