What I Bought - October 2014

We had a wedding to attend this month so I had to buy a new dress and a clutch.  I can honestly say I had not one dress in my closet that wasn't a summer "beach trip" dress and my beloved vintage clutch that I usually carry has started to fall apart (that's what happens after 10+ years of special occasion use).  Here's what I brought home:

1. J.Crew tee (on super sale) - $10.49
2. J.Crew tunic (in the most perfect green, also on super sale) - $13.99
3. H&M dress (mine is cobalt blue - color not available online) - $39.99  - this dress is absolute perfection, it looks way more $$ than the cost, it's structured, yet stretchy and comfortable.  Plus it made me look 10 lbs thinner!
4. DVF clutch - $156 (25% off promo on Piperlime but it's now sold out there) - got this clutch after Jessica raved about it.  She's right (she's pretty much always right BTW - love her blog), it's gorgeous and holds enough for a night out.  Totally glam and will be chic for years!
5. Nike sneakers - $70.17 (on sale - so they might go quick) - $20 (FabFitFun gift card from Fall box) = $50.17
6. Beauty Blender - $19.95 - swear by these!
7. Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation - $47 - a little more coverage than my regular foundation, yet still not heavy feeling. Really liking it.

Total spent out of pocket - $337.59

Oh, man, this collection was full of amazing prints large, small, fine, bold, etc.  When prints are done well, then they shine and in this case they stole the show blinding me with their goodness!  Enjoy!

My Five - Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2011

Oh man, this collection's color palette is out of this world.  It seems that DVF has a new Creative Director and I think it shows, in a very good way.  Not as many prints as you are used to seeing from DVF, but the ones that are there are very nice (well edited).  Did I mention the amazing colors and color combos?  Take notes and start looking for pieces in these colors and mixing them up.  What a great transition from Summer to Fall (heck even Winter to Spring)!  My many picks, be inspired!

My Take: Oscar de la Renta Resort 2011

Remember how completely gorgeous Oscar's Resort collection was (see my five favorite looks here)?  Well I had to save one look for a "my take".

Yeah, good stuff and really easily translated into something we all can wear (and afford) - and remember you can mix and match in any way so you are comfortable.  For example, if shorts aren't an option, go for some white pants instead.  Though I would go with the bracelet or the necklace, not both (might be overkill - you just want a touch of color - take a cue from Oscar).

My Take - DVF Resort 2011

Oh, this was a great collection, I wanted everything and wanted it now (see my five favorite picks here - posted just a few hours ago).  I took one of my favorites and decided I couldn't resist doing a "my take":

Cute, right?  Okay, as usual, I gave mix and match options for accessories, pick and choose - I think the necklace fits more with the gingham button down (also featured in the "my take" of Chanel Cruise earlier this month) and the scarf would work well as a wrap with the romper for any A/C chilled areas you would wander into.  The romper, well, I'm on the fence about them.  Personally, I think I've aged out of this look, but then I think, maybe not?  I don't know.  Purchasing one isn't on my "to do" list at the moment, but since the temperatures here in GA have hovered around 100 for the past few days, it is appealing to have something to throw on that is cute and cool!  Enough of my rambling, here is my take:

DVF Fall 2010

This collection had a great mix of pattern, texture and color.  Really wearable pieces too.  On a side note I loved her mix of models, it's nice not to see (what feels like) the same girl in every outfit.  Bravo Diane!  Here's what caught my eye:
