Target vs Burberry Owls

I popped into my local Target yesterday with the intention of picking up my girl's Pre-K school supplies.  Well that was a huge bust since they were wiped out of every crayon, pencil and eraser ever made.  Seriously it looked like a bomb went off.  Luckily she doesn't "officially" need these supplies until next Monday.  Feeling deflated I wandered over to the clothing section to see what they had.  Research, if you will (I will!).  Remember Burberry's Fall 2012 collection?  Remember all those adorable shirts and sweaters with the critters on them (the standout critter being the owl)?  Let me refresh your memory:

Cute, right?  But these are all just a bit pricey (the sweater is like $1200 and the tees are around $275).  Eeek!

I really hoped that a less expensive alternative would be available.  Well, leave it up to Target to help a girl out!  I was browsing the racks and came upon this cutie:

and to top it off it was on sale for $17 (originally it's $22.99)!  I think it's a nice substitute, so I snapped it up.  I also found this tee (but didn't buy):

It's $12 and would be super cute with some jeans and a black blazer!

My Five - Burberry Prorsum Resort 2013

At first glance there doesn't appear to be a ton of color in this collection.  Trust me it's there but it's muted and comes off as more neutral and subtle, which is so refreshing.  I think we may need to wave bye-bye to neons for a while (which I'm not sad about at all, I liked the trend for a short time, but my eyes are very tired of seeing them).  The shoes are swoon worthy and I'm feeling a great affection for the khaki/grey pairing.  Note to self, we all will want a great brown leather bag by Christmas, or at least I will!  Here are my picks, enjoy!

My Five - Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2012

I'm still swamped with work, so I'll keep with the short/sweet posts (this will probably continue through at least the first part of next week).  I haven't even been able to pick up "The Hunger Games", catch up on magazines, reading blogs, or even watch a lick of TV.  Seriously.  Work is consuming every second, but it's exciting to be working on products that are new to me as well as working with some very talented and fun people.  I have so many bloggy ideas rolling around, but just can't get them on the computer right now.  Soon, I promise.  In the meantime, enjoy my picks from Burberry's Pre-Fall collection and I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

My Take - Burberry Spring 2011

I loved this look from Burberry's Spring 2011 show, I love the color combination of the green top, grey pants and the turquoise clutch.  So much fun! 

I wish that I could have pulled a tunic in that exact color, but sadly I couldn't find one.  I tried to get as close as possible.  Go out and grab something in a fresh, Spring green and pair it with a pop of turquoise!  Here are two takes on this look.

My Five (plus 1) - Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2011

Sorry about no post yesterday, my little girl woke up at 5am sick to her stomach (I'll spare you details, but you Moms out there know where I'm going with this - lol!).  It was a bad morning, but everything was a-okay by the evening and she's back to her old self today.  Yay!  I was a bit worried last night because I was feeling a bit queasy, but I think it was more being totally tired and anxious than a stomach bug because I'm feeling good today.  Maybe I was just worn out because I did 6 loads of laundry yesterday, you know it's going to be a long day when you are loading up the washer at 6am! 

Anyway, I'm going to hit you all pretty hard with a flurry of my Pre-Fall picks from the various collections here over the next few days (are you sick of seeing collections yet?).  I'll keep them short and sweet for the most part and group them as I see fit.  So let's get started with an outstanding Burberry collection - wowza!  It's all about dark hues and long and lean lines.  Here are my picks:
