My Five - Valentino Couture Fall 2012

This collection was filled with really beautiful dresses in colors to die for.  The company's signature red was overshadowed by the lovely cobalt blues and a deep blue/purple that looked so luxe. I loved the very detailed printed and woven patterned fabrics used, just stunning!  Here are my picks, enjoy!

My Five - Valentino Fall 2012

A very "folksy" collection, not hippie folksy more of a milk-the-cow folksy.  I think you can take away a few things from this collection - leather, scalloping and a dash of embroidery (fair isle, flowers and such).  Trust me scalloping will be big come Fall then rolling into next year.  Here are my picks:

My Five - Valentino Couture Spring 2012

Seems like the Valentino designers are hitting their stride, I loved all the florals (take note florals are gaining footing) and sweet details in this collection, just so darn pretty!  Here are my picks:

Spring 2011 Couture Week Round-up

Well, it's the end of my Couture Week coverage.  I adore the Couture, I love the fantasy, the craftsmanship and the pure showmanship of it all.  Here are some picks from some of the other collections.  Enjoy!

Happy Weekend and My (way more than) Five - Valentino Spring 2011

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  Saturday is my 6th wedding anniversary!  I wish I could post a couple of wedding photos, but they are at the other house.  Just know I wore green shoes the same color as the orchids in my bouquet, I'll post some pics when I can get my hands on them.  We don't have any plans mostly because I'll be in school all day and won't be home until around 7pm (Saturdays are completely exhausting).  At any rate, I couldn't leave you without some gorgeous eye candy courtesy of Valentino.  I loved almost every look that came down the runway - wow!  Enjoy my many picks from this collection.

Happy Weekend, Announcements and Various Couture Fall 2010

First of all I hope you all have a great weekend.  I've made my week a little miserable by spending too much energy obsessing thinking about our "still-on-the-market-after-17- months" house.  It's making me nuts people, I'm ready to feel settled.  I must build a bridge and get over it.

As for August and the blog, I'm going to cut down to one post a day for the month.  I'm giving myself a little break from two posts a day so I can enjoy the end of Summer (plus August is a little slow in Fashion-land, sort of the calm before the September fashion show storms).  I'm also going to try out a new series next Wednesday called "Uniform Dressing".  Basically it's going to address the issue of having a sort of "uniform" that you may go to time and time again.  I'm so guilty of this, you don't even know.  My husband makes fun of me - pants and t-shirt, pants and t-shirt.  And it's gotten out of hand since becoming a Mom.  So it's for me and you - LOL!  It's not about abandoning the "uniform", but more about embracing it.  Come back on Wednesday and see what I mean.   I'm also working on a new mission statement since I've moved away from the blog's original concept, more on that in a couple of weeks.

Okay, back to it.  To finish up my week-long Fall 2010 Couture roundup, I'm going to cover a couple of additional shows that I just liked a few looks from.  First up, the super detailed Givenchy:

No one will look past you wearing one of these showstoppers!

And finally Valentino, where everything was super-duper short and sassy - nice!

I want this! - Valentino Laceland Tote

Oh yeah, I'm aiming for the stars today my friends.  Let me introduce you to the Valentino Laceland Tote which clocks in at a cool $3,495.  I'm not usually a frilly person, so I'm surprised that this caught my eye enough to drop everything and put a post together.  But this tote is gorgeous - love that the "lace" is leather- FAB!  Alas, this will be added to the "someday - yeah, right" list...

Valentino - Couture Spring 2010

Uh, well, parts of it were downright weird, there were flashes of great though.  Still a bit too far from "Valentino" in my opinion.  The Pre-Fall 2010 collection was stronger in my opinion (see my post about that collection here). My picks from this collection:

Valentino Pre-Fall 2010

Lots of red, black, neutrals in this collection.  I found it very intriguing - it's certainly more forward than what we are used to seeing.  I do think the new design team needs to be mindful of Mr. Valentino's style (what we look to Valentino for) and client base while also incorporating the new.
