Bandelettes Thigh Bands - Review!

Disclosure: I was sent a two pairs of bands for purposes of review. All opinions are my own.

A while ago I was approached to do a review of Bandelettes (bands that you wear to help/prevent thigh chafing).  I sort of blew it off, thinking that it wasn't really an issue for me.  But then it started to get warm outside and my usual method (slim short) of keeping the chafing at bay was getting a little too warm for comfort.  So I decided to give the Bandelettes a try.  Here's what they sent:
white lace - not to worry, the lace is soft and stretchy!
caramel lace - both in size B - $14.99 a pair

I tried them out for a couple of weeks and was so pleased.  They really did the job without the added fabric which makes things a whole lot cooler this time of year.  Thigh chafing is by no means just a plus-size issue, I'm a size 6-8 and experience it - thanks to post-baby weight shift.  It's annoying, painful and can make you never want to wear a skirt in warm weather again.  Bandelettes are comfortable, don't bunch or roll when wearing (thanks to the two strips of non slip silicone - see photo above, the right shows the band inside out), don't itch, aren't too tight and don't show when wearing a skirt.  Best of all there are no sticky lotions are annoying powders to deal with.  I even washed them a couple of times on delicate in a lingerie bag and hung them to dry and they didn't stretch or look any worse for wear.

Bottom line, I would completely recommend these.  They are a comfortable and affordable solution for thigh chafing in the warmer months.  They are now a warm weather staple in my wardrobe!

Are you there Spring?

Raise your hand if you are sick of Winter. I think most of us are.  I'm ready for some happy, floral pants and a tee - no coats required.  I ran across these pants and I'm loving them.  Here's to a little Spring Fever in outfit form!

Happy (Spring) Weekend!

I loved this illustration from Hermes that popped up in my inbox yesterday.  I'm so happy it's officially Spring this weekend, we are having some lovely weather too - up to 78 on Saturday!  I pass by Augusta National almost daily when running around town and they are furiously preparing the parking areas, have just painted in a crosswalk and generally getting ready for the madness that will be this year's Masters.  Spring has sprung!  Hope you have a lovely weekend, many thanks for reading my little ol' blog!

March in October

Okay, so these images are a bit outdated, but I just loved the editorial in March 2009's O Magazine featuring Isaac Mizrahi for Liz Claiborne.  Sure it's now Autumn, but we can all appreciate a little bit of Spring all year round.  I should mention that I ran across this issue in my Mom's house when I was visiting.  Yep, she had a stack of magazines for me to go through.  Ah well, it was worth it.

Balenciaga Spring 2010

You know that you are gonna get edgy with Balenciaga and this collection was no different.  Lots of leather, tech fabrics and intricate constructions.  However, I noticed a funny thing as I was scrolling through this collection.  I became less interested in the clothes and more interested in the color combinations that were presented.  So I picked out some interesting looks from the Spring collection - but instead of basing my picks on the clothes, I based it on the color combinations:

Prada Spring 2010

If you know anything about me, you have to know that I adore anything and everything Prada.  Sometimes Miuccia can be a bit out there, however, you have to admit she manages to keep things interesting.  Even if you don't like the clothes you most likely will love the accessories or vice versa.  I have a thing for Prada shoes (I've actually worn pairs out - like holes in them - yeah).  Here are some interesting items from Spring 2010 (loving the prints - not so much in love with all the clear shoes and handbags, more like conversation pieces than wearable items):

Happy Spring (a little early)!

I was looking through some of my old pictures and found this gem I took from Spring 2006 in Cumberland, Maryland, where I used to live. This was taken on beautiful Washington Road. Cumberland is in the western part of the state in the mountains and not many outside the area know much about it. It really is a lovely place that we were happy to call "home" for 4 years.
Anyhoo, we've been having such lovely weather in Georgia that I'm in the Spring spirit and this picture just makes me feel good! Hope it does the same for you!
