Book Review - "Staying Stylish" by Candace Cameron Bure (#16 - 2018)

Staying Stylish by Candace Cameron Bure

Nothing groundbreaking with this book, but it’s a great choice if you are looking for an overall basic clothing/style/beauty/fitness book.  It’s lovely to look at, good information and I always enjoy a ribbon bookmark.  Candace is likable and relatable and the tips she gives are solid.  Totally recommend.  Also, this would make a great gift!

Friend Friday - Christmas Wish List

I'm joining together with Katy over at Modly Chic again for FBFF!  Today's FBFF's topic is what's on our Christmas Lists.  Well, I always have "want" lists a mile long for any/every holiday/occasion, however this year is a little different.  I've already gotten my Christmas present. It actually was a combo Birthday/Christmas/Anniversary present from my sweet hubby - an iPad!  Now this was huge for me, since my husband and I haven't exchanged any present for any occasion for a couple of years now.

I'm in love with this sweet little gadget (that has made commenting, reading and creating so much easier)!  I got the white one and bought Apple's smart cover in orange:

Along with a clear Belkin back shield compatible with the smart cover.

There are a lot of cute iPad covers out there - but I didn't want one that zipped open, that I had to pull the gadget in and out of (too much trouble and there's the added threat of dropping and zipper scratching), and I didn't want some generic ugly case.  I wanted something that stayed as true to how you would use it as possible, with little to no added bulk/weight.  So I highly recommend this combination.  The smart cover turns it on and off (hibernates it) upon opening and closing and the back cover protects it from scratching and impact.  The only issue now is that I'm now wanting an iPhone to match- lol!

Anyway, sorry for my lack of a proper list, but that's how things go right now.  I hope you all have a lovely weekend!  I've got to get our Christmas cards ready to mail out and I checked this book out of the library today to peruse for new recipes!  I'll let you know if I find any good (easy) ones.

Make sure you pop over to Modly Chic and check out everyone else's proper wish lists :o)  See you Monday!

Merry Christmas and Happy Weekend!

Well, it's here!  I absolutely cannot believe it's Christmas tomorrow.  No, I'm not ready - I never have been.  Yet another year of non-wrapped presents arriving to various people in January.  If you want a glimpse into how bad I am at gifting, feel free to read one of my very earliest posts here on the ol' blog about how I suck at giving gifts.  Ah the tradition continues, it's kind of hilarious at this point.  Next year, next year (I say that every year).

On to something a bit more fun.  One thing I love about Christmas morning (other than opening presents) is being able to lounge around in my jammies for an extra few hours.  Yay for the cozy!  I hunted down some really cute pj options that I would love to lounge around in.  Enjoy and have a wonderful Christmas and weekend!

Okay this post is a little late...but still timely!

I meant to do this post right after Christmas, but well, when I uploaded the pictures I accidentally filed them in one of my (many, many) daughter's photo folders on the computer.  I just ran across them today - duh.

My Mom gave me these awesome vintage necklaces for Christmas and I thought I would share.  I LOVE them and the fact that she paid less than $15 per necklace makes them that much cooler (yeah, she got such a deal she had to share the price with me and I was totally impressed).  The pictures make them sort of hard to see (my awesome camera skillz are to blame too).  They have quickly become my go-to pieces now.
This one is a long (can be doubled) chain with these little diamond fringe-like pieces hanging from it - lots of sparkle and movement.

A Hamilton watch on a necklace (unfortunately it doesn't work) - the watch pendant is round and you can see the movement on the reverse.  Love this because I wear a Hamilton wristwatch.

Amber chunks on a chain.  It's bold yet subtle at the same time (if that makes sense).

I Love These! - No Slippy Hair Clippies

My little one in one of her Hair Clippies

Okay, I'm gonna slip into children's stuff again, but I just want to say how much I love No Slippy Hair Clippies!  They make absolutely adorable hair clips for little girls, lined in velvet and made in the USA.  I bought a bunch for the little one when she was about 11 months old.  They have a great selection and colors and are so well made that they can handle the rough and tumble toddlers (though right now mine is going through a "don't put anything on my head" phase so the clips are on hiatus, along with hats).  Here are some of my picks:
Abby - $8 (we have it in pink and brown - in picture)

Sam - $8 (we have this exact one - goes with almost every outfit)

Oh, I could go on and on.  But you get the idea.  Go and check it out for yourselves, they would make great stocking stuffers.  Right now they are running a 20% discount through this Sunday (12/6/09) - click here to access that special page.

*Note:  I didn't receive any compensation for tooting their horn, I just really love the clips and I love that they are manufactured here in the US.  Though I wouldn't be opposed to some swag - ha ha!

Let the Christmas shopping begin...

I just ordered The Nod Chair (in Pink Toile above) from The Land of Nod for the little one for Christmas.  Love the toile mixed with the stripes.  She's rather obsessed with chairs so I think she'll be quite pleased to have one just her size!  I guess it's officially the Christmas season!
