Quick little update...

I apologize for sort of phoning things in for the past week, I'm right in the thick of a major work project and have been traveling along with getting back in the groove of life post-holiday while at home.  We had a great time in Chicago visiting family over Christmas (but I did discover that I'm quickly reaching John Madden-like levels in my fear of flying - anyone else struggling with this fear?).  I got some great goodies/deals which I'll share later on in a post.  Discovered some super cool apps, which I'll also share in a post.  In the meantime here's what I'm digging right now:

I just started this book (a little late to the game, I know):
I'm watching The House of Anubis (seasons 1-3 are free on iTunes right now).  I'm in my 30's watching some cheesy teen show about a mystery at a boarding school in England.  Embarrassing, but it's entertaining, badly acted, but entertaining.

Totally digging Hilary Rhoda's outfit:

And I'll always love Dolly Parton, here's a quote from this week's US Weekly Magazine that I love:
Someone asked her "Are you the real Dolly Parton?"  Dolly said, "There's no such thing!" (referring to her extensive plastic surgery)

She's so funny!

Hope you all are having a good week!

Technical Difficulties

Just to add to a long string of "what else can go wrong?" moments of this past week, late Friday night my laptop's power cord broke.  No power cord = no way to charge the battery.  So my posts will be waiting on the new power cord being shipped to me.  Luckily I had programmed in my Couture Week roundups so enjoy those until I can get powered up again.  Better run before the rest of my battery dies.  See you on the flip side!

Redefine Balance

My amazing Sister-In-Law/Life Coach has a brand new blog that just launched this week.  Here's a little about her and her work:

"I love working with women to create balance in their lives after they have children! I believe we can design our perfect life if we make conscious choices and if we are willing to examine and explore what we want from life. My goal with this blog is to offer women a source of motivation and to provide questions and fieldwork that are challenging and help you explore the relationship you have with yourself and others. I want to help you realize your potential so you can share your wonderful and unique qualities with the world! "
- Coach Gaye

She was a valuable resource for me when I became a Mom.  I didn't know how to balance everything and not get lost in the process.  Please pop over and check her blog out - each week she will be covering a different topic.  I'm super excited to see what she has in store!

What a week...

This is not how my daughter and I look this week (or ever - ha!)  It's so sweet and yet so foreign to me.  In my family's version the little girl would have red hair sticking up in all directions running full speed and I would be in flats and pants (most likely a stain of some sort on them) running after her. In other words, we would just be a messy blur!  Ah, the toddler years...

...it's been one of those "Why-did-I-get-out-of-bed-I-need-a-vacation-NOW" weeks, the bad news is that it's only Wednesday.  After a totally heinous trip to the park yesterday morning that involved me falling on my butt in mud while holding the little one (we are okay, I'm a bit sore, but no major physical injury.  Mental - well that's another story - LOL!) and trying to get some work done on a couple of projects I have in the works, which has been all but impossible.  Mama said there would be days/weeks like this...

Ewoks gone wild...

...seriously.  I'm having one heck of a week:  I'm trying to recover from a sinus infection, fighting with an eye doctor (which involves me not being able to wear my contacts, just my crappy glasses), coordinating our Thanksgiving plans with the In Laws, coordinating Christmas gift giving with my hubby's big family (hopefully we will figure this out over Thanksgiving 'cause the emails are confusing me), talking to our realtor and her mentioning our house has been on the market for 234 days now (God help us) and all we hear are crickets, and then preparing to leave for said house Thursday (which means no internet, no TV) for the weekend.  I'm a bit overwhelmed, not that it's all so hard, it's just a lot on my mind.  I'm gonna try and blog some this week, but I'm not pushing it.

Anyhoo, in the meantime, please do enjoy this non-design, fashion related video.  It made me laugh so hard I had to share.  Please keep in mind that this was on the Today show on Halloween (clip is from E!'s The Soup).  I now present, Ewoks Gone Wild, do enjoy...

It's one of those days...

The time change kicked our rears here (child is up a the bust of dawn and is totally off schedule - which makes for a miserable day).  I had to have a Starbucks Pumpkin Latte this morning as a chaser for my usual Diet Coke.  And I'm still dragging.  Here's hoping the week gets better (or at least I get more alert)!

Where am I?

Okay, okay, I've totally been missing in action for the past week. In my defense, I've been completely overwhelmed. Between a day trip (with the 1 year old) to Augusta last Tuesday, my Mother coming into town for a visit last Wednesday, day trip (again with 1 year old) to Atlanta Thursday - more on that later - and then my daughter's first Birthday party Saturday, I'm beat. I barely checked my emails. So I promise I'll be better this week (Mom and hubby leave tomorrow morning)! I did miss you, I swear!
