Gosh, I've never been so happy to see a weekend in all my days. I swear this week has been one giant festival of suck. Crankiness has ruled my house, my car decided it doesn't want to start easily (it's going to the shop Monday), hubby working all the time and mommy and toddler are kind of sick of being around each other 24/7 - LOL! Luckily we are going to be having visitors this weekend and then Mother's Day Out starts up in less than 2 weeks - yay! We all just need a change of routine and scenery. If I had my way, I would be camped out in a lovely hotel for a weekend, dressed up and eating out (no cooking or clean up)! Here's what I would love to wear for fancy eating:
And here's where I would like to stay (it's called "The Nines" and of course it's in Portland, Oregon which would be waaaay out of the way for moi - but again, this is my fantasy). Isn't it just beautiful? I adore the colors! (more pics in my post here).
Here's to a better week ahead! See you all Monday - hopefully with a morning post that actually makes sense - ha! I'm thinking that next week may be the "Week of Chambray" - check back in Monday and see what I mean...

Amazing Hotel Alert!
Let me introduce you to The Inn at St.Botolph in Boston's historic Back Bay. It's an affordable luxury, extended stay, boutique hotel. The rooms are so lovely and cozy with tons of amenities. I haven't been to Boston since I was 12 (a looong time ago) so maybe a return visit to stay in this gem might be worth it! See for yourself:

How much do you love the mix of bold stripes, buffalo plaid, zig zags and houndstooth of the fabrics? As well as the trompe d'oeil bedside table? Love all of it! For more information and images visit the hotel's website here.

Amazing Hotel Alert!

The Algonquin Hotel in NYC recently had a facelift and I think the guestrooms are delightful. The Algonquin has such a rich history (it was the birthplace of New Yorker magazine) who wouldn't want to check in? As an added bonus, they have a resident feline named Matilda who makes everyone feel right at home - she's so popular you can even drop her an email! (my cats are so old school) Check out some pictures below:

Amazing Hotel Alert!
I was flipping through one of the recent Elle Decor magazines my Mom brought during her stay here last week, and they were highlighting Athens, Greece (you know their regular feature that highlights were to stay, eat and shop for a different city each month). Well, right there in the opening was a picture of the Hotel Grande Bretagne. It just happened that my hubby and I stayed there during our trip to Athens 2 years ago. And let me tell you that is the fanciest, most luxurious hotel I had ever had the pleasure of resting my head. It's a landmark in Athens built in the 1800's and many a famous head of state and celebrity have stayed there too. In fact when we were there some foreign dignitary was also there for a couple of nights and we had to go through metal detectors they had set up at the entrance, just to get inside. The rooms are opulent, the lobby is stunning, but the absolute highlight of the hotel is it's open air restaurant with a stunning view of the Acropolis. It is where you want to be at sunset seeing everything transition from day to night - one of my most treasured memories of that trip. Here are some pictures from the hotel's website:

Custom rugs with their monogram near the elevator banks - I just love that dusty purple "B"
It truly is an amazing hotel with a rich history in an equally amazing city!

Amazing Hotel Alert!
Reception
Lobby LoungeI was flipping through March's Hospitality Design magazine and ran across a feature about a hotel in Portland, Oregon called the Nines. Oh my gosh, it is beautiful! Designed By SERA Architects and decorated by ForrestPerkins it is LEED Silver. The colors are outstanding! Makes me want to plan a trip to Portland. Do enjoy the luxury!

If you haven't already...
If you are a hotel junkie, like myself, pop over to Montague. They supply casegoods to lovely hotels all over (check out the picture on the homepage - how I would LOVE to stay in that hotel room!). This room from the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco is so cheery! Ah, nothing better than a great hotel!
