Amazing Hotel Alert! - Armani Hotel Dubai

On April 27, 2010 Giorgio Armani opened up his first hotel - Armani Hotel Dubai - in Dubai's Burj Khalifa (aka the world's tallest building).  It's exactly the luxurious minimalism one would expect from Mr. Armani.  Almost too minimalist for moi (the hallway looks like something out of "The Matrix"), but you be the judge:

Amazing Hotel Alert! - Viceroy Snowmass

Located at the base of a mountain in Snowmass, Colorado this Viceroy is on track to become LEED-Silver certified.  The sustainable interiors were designed by Jen Michel-Gathy and Kelly Wearstler.  It's kind of a low key interior with a soothing, natural color palette with subtle touches of glamour.  As you can see from the picture it's not a small hotel.  Here is the entire article with more about how they went about the sustainable design.  Now for the fun stuff - here are some interior shots - enjoy!

Amazing Hotel Alert! - The Gray Hotel Milan

The Gray Hotel is an exclusive boutique hotel located in the heart of Milan.  Each of the hotel's 21 rooms is unique, with interiors designed by architect Guido Ciompi.  I love the simplicity mixed with luxury and the mostly neutral rooms with punches of color here and there.  Now for your enjoyment here are some pictures of the lovely Gray Hotel.  Let's go!

Amazing Hotel Alert - The Betsy!

Originally opened in 1942 as "The Betsy Ross Hotel" in South Beach on Ocean Drive.  It's Georgian architecture stood out amongst all the Art Deco buildings around it.  The hotel has now undergone an extensive renovation and is a 61 room luxury boutique hotel known simply as "The Betsy" (see it's very interesting history here).  The redesign was done by designers Diamante Pedersoli and Carmelina Santoro who kept it traditional yet modern.  I'm particurally fond of the palette of whites accented with lavender, ochre, coral, and green mixed with the raffia and linen textures.  Very beachy!

We interrupt fashion week coverage for an - Amazing Hotel Alert!

Why I haven't talked about this hotel before now is beyond me, I mean it's in my hometown and I've eaten at the restaurant there a few times when visiting the family. It's a beautiful hotel in every way. I'm talking about the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro, NC - recognized as the "greenest" hotel in America. Please enjoy!

Amazing Hotel Alert!

Let me introduce you to The Inn at St.Botolph in Boston's historic Back Bay. It's an affordable luxury, extended stay, boutique hotel. The rooms are so lovely and cozy with tons of amenities. I haven't been to Boston since I was 12 (a looong time ago) so maybe a return visit to stay in this gem might be worth it! See for yourself:

Interesting Hotel Chain Alert!

I stumbled upon the Ace Hotel chain recently in my reading. It's an interesting concept, from what I gather, they provide reasonably priced, few frills, yet funky (sort of a musician vibe) accommodations. Currently there are Ace Hotels in Portland, Seattle, New York and Palm Springs. The rooms range from single with shared bathroom to a loft with all the variations in between (including bunk beds in NY). Here are some examples of rooms from the various locations:
