Viktor & Rolf Fall 2010

Oh I love these guys, they know how to do a show.  They also know how to make what seems like a wacky concept into a wearable, beautiful collection.  Long story short, '90's model Kristen McMenamy came out dressed in a huge coat that ended up being peeled off layer by layer to dress the models on the runway. 

The garments were all adjustable using drawstrings, after the trip down the runway they were taken off and put back on Kristen. 

Sounds crazy, but it totally worked and was most impressive.  Here's a video:

A pretty low key collection from them.  Lots of black with a few hits of color.  Some very wearable pieces here.  My picks below:

Viktor & Rolf Spring 2010

When you say Viktor & Rolf, "wearablity" isn't the first thing that pops into your head.  Things like "surreal", "art", "wow" and "what?" often come up first.  Now, I'm not saying they don't create wearable pieces, they do, you just have to hunt for them.  I will be the first to admit that I'm a fan and the last to ever be able to pull off something from them - I'll admire from a far.  Spring 2010 didn't disappoint with the tulle ball gowns at the end -wow!  So here are what I thought were the highlights:
