Random Spring 2013 picks

Now that the Pre-Fall 2013 collections are being shown, it's time to wrap up some odds and ends from the Spring 2013 shows.  Here are some of my random picks.

Billy Reid
Sophisticated pajama dressing, I might be on board.

Holmes & Yang - admit it you are curious
Trying to figure out if the print are lobsters, shrimp, feathers or just randomness.

How easy would this be to recreate this look?  Hello red shorts, on my shopping list now.

The Row - here's what MK and Ashley have been up to:

Another take on pajama dressing.

Rodarte

Versace
This dress makes me think of Carrie Underwood for some reason.

Various Fall 2012 picks

It's not even officially Summer yet, but I'm going to wrap up my Fall 2012 collection coverage with various picks.  Bring on Resort 2013 (which I've already started digging into with Bottega Veneta and Oscar de la Renta)!
Love the colors here and the metallic accents in a sort of leopard pattern.  Take note of the sheen.

Nice but sheesh I'm so tired of this goth, moody vibe from Versace.  I want Donatella to think about a little more than what she would wear 24/7.  Love certain pieces but then it's gets so repetitive (like fashion "white noise").  Snore.

Lots o' lace and brocade.  I really want the late 1990's/early 2000's D&G back.  Sigh.

Happy Weekend a Thank You and My Five - Versace Spring 2011

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!  Thanks for all the really fab birthday wishes yesterday, I appreciated them more than you can know!  We found out that my girl has (yet another) ear infection, so that's what was causing her high fever and restlessness.  Now it's time for the antibiotics to do their work.

I recently won a giveaway over at Dressing Mommy for some beautiful Jess LC earrings and I want to say thanks to Kelly!  Aren't they perfection (how cute is the packaging)?  I now want the white version :o)  There are so many Jess LC items on my Christmas list this year...

I've been scoring some amazing giveaways lately and for that I feel really blessed!  I have one more to share next week.

And now to my five picks from Versace's Spring 2011 collection.  You may not notice it from these five pieces, but there was a very distinct Greek Key theme.  Again, fashion and interiors mirror each other.  Enjoy!

My Take: Versace Resort 2011

Yesterday, I posted my five favorite looks from Versace's Resort 2011 collection and this was one of my absolute faves:
Simple, easy and totally wearable.  I'm in love with the orange bag - just perfect.  So here's my take (I feature an inexpensive bag and then a more expensive option from Tory Burch):

My Five - Versace Resort 2011

Ah, lately Versace seems so princess Barbie to me.  Not literally (no fluffy ballgowns), but figuratively, I am concluding this means I've become an old fart.  I look at a collection and I feel like if you are over 25 you should just look elsewhere.  That's not to say I don't like some looks, but overall I'm growing tired of the Versace vibe (I was a turbo Gianni Versace fan back in the day, no one did the sex goddess/supermodel thing better - no one).  Maybe Donatella is in a rut or maybe I'm in a bad mood - ha!  That being said, I did find some lovely looks in this collection (hello, orange, yipee!).  Stay tuned, I will tackle one of these for a "my take" tomorrow - it's a good one!

Versace Fall 2010

Uh, well, lemme see, the collection felt awkward to me. I didn't dislike it, but didn't like it either, it felt repetitive (please use different shoes without that shin guard/boot thing).  Look, I know Versace=Glamazon and I'm here to tell you that no one loved that Versace "look" more than I did back in the '90's.  You can tell Donatella tried to be understated here, but it's not working.  Something isn't working, maybe go back to the va-va-voom gowns and prints and embellishment?  I don't know, but I'm rooting for them.  Here are my highlights - which are kind of disappointing:

Versace Pre-Fall 2010

Uhhh, I'm thinking I'm an old fart after looking at this compact Versace pre-Fall collection.  Good grief, very bright, lots of prints, skirts very short and pants/leggings are tight, too many shiny fabrics.  Some revolting color combinations, so much so that the clothes either get lost or look cheesy.  I expect more from Versace, I do.  However, I have a few picks to show.  I would look at them for the Japanese inspired prints (which I like, just not in the manner used) and color.
