Wishlist - Books, Cookbooks!

I'm not generally a person who buys cookbooks, I rely heavily on magazines (thank you Real Simple!) and now Pinterest to find new things to make.  But lately, I've been bored, I want to try some new dishes, mix things up a bit!  I hopped over to Amazon to check out some cookbooks.  Here are the ones that I'm most interested in.  Do any of you have any of these? If so, what do you think of them?  Am I missing any other good ones out there?  Let me know!

It's All Good by Gwyneth Paltrow - Look, she drives me nuts too guys, but her recipes (that I've tried) have been delish!  Keep it coming Gwynnie!

Housekeeping

(I can only wish my home office looked like this)

Oh man, to say I'm slammed with work would be an understatement.  We have a huge project with a very tight deadline and I've been burning the weekend and midnight oil.  It will calm down a bit in a week or so, but I'm not complaining because I'm LOVING it.  I adore seeing something go from paper/digital drawing to actual fabric.  I love being the person to help make that happen, it's so fun!

So that explains the lack of regular posts up in here.  I also have been taking a break from outfit posts for the summer, for a variety of reasons.  First, my summer clothes are so boring, boring, boring - hate them (but I'm on a spending freeze so no new ones this year).  Also, when I am working at a facility I have to wear a uniform - again, boring.  And it's been so unbearably hot, I just felt so yucky and frazzled.  Don't fret, my goal is to get back into it this Fall.

One thing I have been doing this Summer is to try at least one new recipe a week.  It's been really exciting, fun, as well as delicious (for the most part).  I wanted to share the ones I've been trying with you all, but don't want to turn this into a blog with food content.  So as a compromise, I'll post the recipe I try each week - with how I liked it -  to my Facebook page, so if you are interested head over and like my page.  This week's is up there now (here's a picture of it).

That's about it for today - hope everyone has a good one!

Friend Friday - Summer Recipe

I'm joining up with Katy at Modly Chic for FBFF again!  Today everyone is going to share a recipe for their favorite Summer dish.  Yay!
Pasta Salad With Salami and Mozzarella

This is a recipe I got from Real Simple magazine - I've gotten so many wonderful (and easy) recipes from that magazine, it's totally changed my cooking life you could say!  We make this at least once a week this time of year, I usually don't add the salami because the hubby isn't a fan, but sometimes I'll add it to just my portion.  It's great with or without the salami.  I generally double the recipe.  Here it is:
Pasta Salad with Salami and Mozzarella (via Real Simple)
Ingredients

2 cups gemelli (or other short pasta) - I usually use bowtie
2 cups chopped spinach
1 cup grape tomatoes (halved)
4 ounces fresh mozzarella, cut into pieces
2 ounces salami, cut into pieces
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
kosher salt and black pepper

Directions

1.Cook pasta according to the package directions; drain and rinse under cold water. Toss in a large bowl with the spinach, grape tomatoes, mozzarella, and salami.

2.Whisk together the olive oil, white wine vinegar, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper. Drizzle the salad with the vinaigrette before serving.

It's so easy and so yummy!  Check out what everyone else is making here!
