Love This! - Bev Hisey Rug

I recently came across this fab-u-lous wool-silk rug designed by Bev Hisey called "Mommy Dearest".  How awesome is this rug?  It would be amazing in a closet - no wire hangers allowed of course. ;o)

This is not my first tip o' the hat to Bev and her rugs - see this post.  I have a feeling she and I would be BFFs!

Great rugs on One Kings Lane today

Sure, these rugs are from The Rug Market Kids (and some are certainly directed at the kiddos) but they are fab!  They are on the small side, but who doesn't need a smaller rug every now and then, especially at such good prices!  Check them out over at One Kings Lane (let me know if you want an invite and I'll get you one).

Groovy!

Check out these two groovy rugs from R-Evolution by Floor to Heaven (can't find a website to link to). They fascinate me. Greg Brady would approve!

How exciting!

Amy Butler has just introduced a new line of handcrafted rugs based on her outstanding designs. This is what she has to say about them:

"I designed them with a mix of patterns from my fabrics and bedding lines and a few new designs too! I visited India to see where everything is made and had an amazing time and learned so much. It was great to see how they are made and meet the wonderful people who help make it all happen. I loved seeing all of the rugs drying in the sun; it is an image I will never forget. My rugs are made from 100% New Zealand Wool, they are hand made and semi-sustainable using no harsh chemical washes, the industries safest chrome dyes and natural latex adhesive."

They are beautiful! See the entire line here. Wow!!

If you haven't already...

go check out Angela Adams Furniture and Rug Collections - they are simply stunning. The above rug is called "Forest Floor" and is part of "The Birds and The Bees" Collection. All of her items are really beautiful. I love her design sense and color combinations. Worth checking out!

Icky in a cool way or cool in an icky way

Designer Bev Hisey designed these rugs for Radiant Dark 2009 (theme: Elegant Corruptions). Each rug is a sort of representation of giant Petri dishes with magnified bacteria and viruses such as: SARS, Acinobactor, E. Coli, Botulism, Cholera, Influenza, HIV, Streptococcus and Anthrax. Ugh! Appropriately enough all are part of her Dirty Dishes series. All are made of New Zealand wool with the germs rendered with varying pile heights for dimension. They certainly would be conversation pieces - "Hey, how do you like my new Botulism rug? Let's eat!" Ha! See an article about them in Interior Design magazine here.

Fun FLOR

I think the Find A Face rug by artist Francois Robert from FLOR would be perfect in a kid's room/playroom. A 3' x 5' rug is $179.99. I love FLOR carpet tiles, I have used them in my home, they are super quick and easy to install. I also love the ability to mix and match different styles/patterns/textures, so you can really create a custom floor covering that fits perfectly with your decor and your lifestyle.

I want this!

I just love this Wood Grain rug from Land of Nod. I love that it's sort of realistic and sort of cartoonish at the same time. Sure it's meant for a child's room or playroom, but I love the idea of it in a more grown up setting. It's handwoven 100% New Zealand wool and it's on sale right now. If I only weren't moving soon I would snap one up!
