My Take - Slip-On Sneaker Mini-Trend

Last week I covered some Resort 2014 trends that caught my eye:

Today I'm going to touch on an emerging mini-trend for Fall that caught my eye and that I can totally get on board with - slip-on sneakers! Actually my best friend sent me an image of some amazing leopard print slip-on sneakers - I was hooked.  Then I ran across this image on Pinterest:

How perfect are these little numbers from Celine?  But alas, they are Celine and not in any way affordable for us regular folks.  I kept noticing more and more high end slip-on sneakers like the ones below:

1.  Givenchy - $495
2.  Givenchy - $650
3.  Marc by Marc Jacobs - $248
4.  Givenchy - $530
5.  Prada - $420

Okay, those are nice but way too $$.  So I hunted down some affordable options.  There are some great ones out there!
6.  Tory Burch - $165
7.  Donald J. Pliner - $50
8.  Gap - $60
10.  Sperry - $75
11.  Tory Burch - $56
12.  Vans - $45
13.  Vans - $45

What do you think, is this one trend you are excited about?

Resort 2014 Trend - Windowpanes/Squares

This is a bit of a continuing trend, but instead of just lines, there are more intricate/interesting ways the windowpane is being presented.  I think it kind of blends gingham and plaid.  What do you think?  This winds up the week of Resort 2014 trends.  Did you enjoy this? Is it something you all would like to see after each season?  Next week I'll tackle some of these trends with things you can buy right now!  Have a great weekend!

Resort 2014 Trend - Snakeskin

Snakeskin, Python, whatever you want to call it, is a classic print that's a nice alternative to leopard. I'm still partial to leopard but it might be nice to add a cute pair of snakeskin print flats to the wardrobe.  What do you think?

Resort 2014 Trend - Birkenstock-like Slides

Oh yeah, now this I'm excited about! I love my Birkenstocks and it's nice to see these "ugly" shoes as a trend. It's good for the feet.  Note also the appearance of the Adidas adilette slides.  If you are my age you probably wore these at some point in your life, I know I swore by them.  New Birks and the Adidas slides are on my wishlist!

Anyone else as excited about this trend as I am?

Resort 2014 Trends - Color

This week I'm going to cover the trends from the Resort 2014 collections (check out my Resort 2014 Pinterest board).  Why did I sort of skip over Fall? Honestly, resort is more wearable, it covers warm and cool weather items and (my favorite reason) it gives a good idea about what next Spring will hold - meaning you can buy stuff on sale now that will be on trend for next Spring/Summer!  Today we are starting with colors.  First up, blue.  Seriously, blue has been dominating the collections for the past few seasons.  It's sticking around!

Next up, green.  Not really one specific shade of green (please Pantone stop trying to make Emerald Green happen - that was a bad call).  It's not a dominating color across all collections, but it was one that caught my attention.

And last up is one of those colors that isn't obvious, but when it shows up it makes a statement. A splash of neon green/yellow.  Whether it be an accent color in a print or an accessory, it adds interest.

What do you all think? Are you excited about these colors?

Tomorrow we tackle another trend.
