Happy Weekend!

Oh great, looks like Lady Gaga stole my outfit again.  Now what will I wear when I run my errands this weekend?  Darn you Lady Gaga (fist shaking in her direction).  What I love about this picture is the look on the guy's face - priceless.  You have to love dear Gaga, even if you shake your head every time you see her.  Seriously, I have mega errands to run and some computer work to do this weekend.  This past week had some really exciting developments, 2010 is looking like it's on the right track.  We still need someone to buy our house though :o) Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Matthew Williamson Fall 2010

A lovely, sophisticated collection from him. Really nice accents of color (cobalt blue in particular), subtle ruffles and beautiful evening wear (that last rust colored dress just kills me - wowza!). Here are my picks:

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2010

A military themed collection with lots of fab jackets and coats (hey, it is Burberry after all).  Really nicely done and pay attention to the colors and the color combinations.  I think these will be important and not just in fashion.  Here are the looks that caught my eye:

I want this! - Valentino Laceland Tote

Oh yeah, I'm aiming for the stars today my friends.  Let me introduce you to the Valentino Laceland Tote which clocks in at a cool $3,495.  I'm not usually a frilly person, so I'm surprised that this caught my eye enough to drop everything and put a post together.  But this tote is gorgeous - love that the "lace" is leather- FAB!  Alas, this will be added to the "someday - yeah, right" list...

Okay this post is a little late...but still timely!

I meant to do this post right after Christmas, but well, when I uploaded the pictures I accidentally filed them in one of my (many, many) daughter's photo folders on the computer.  I just ran across them today - duh.

My Mom gave me these awesome vintage necklaces for Christmas and I thought I would share.  I LOVE them and the fact that she paid less than $15 per necklace makes them that much cooler (yeah, she got such a deal she had to share the price with me and I was totally impressed).  The pictures make them sort of hard to see (my awesome camera skillz are to blame too).  They have quickly become my go-to pieces now.
This one is a long (can be doubled) chain with these little diamond fringe-like pieces hanging from it - lots of sparkle and movement.

A Hamilton watch on a necklace (unfortunately it doesn't work) - the watch pendant is round and you can see the movement on the reverse.  Love this because I wear a Hamilton wristwatch.

Amber chunks on a chain.  It's bold yet subtle at the same time (if that makes sense).

I want this! - LV Mon Monogram

I want a bag with this monogram on it so bad I could cry.  How perfect is the turquoise?  Throw in that leopard scarf and I'm done.  Dreaming big, I am :o)

Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2010

I usually don't pay much attention to his shows, I haven't bought anything Tommy in quite a long while.  However, after hearing that Peter Som is consulting for the line, I wanted to see what the outcome was.  Well, I'm pleasantly surprised for sure, what a fresh, approachable and fun collection.  Here are my highlights:

Get This! - O Magazine March 2010

One of my best friends got me a subscription to O Magazine for my birthday last year and I have really enjoyed it.  Every issue is chock full of good info, but March's issue is outstanding.  It's all about de-cluttering your life and it's worth picking up.  I'm sort of an organizational geek so it really appealed to me.  Here are a couple of things that I liked from the issue that I thought I would share:

First off, organizational guru Peter Walsh helps a young professional photographer organize her office (which is in her living room).  In the contributors section in the front of the issue, Peter says something that really hit home with me about being organized " parents taught us to take care of the things we did have - to respect our possessions.  I was always an organized kid, but I think respect is the basis for the work I do."  This is something I firmly believe too.

Then there is an editorial about Spring's Best, Most Wearable Trends.  Here are some of my favorite images:
The Glitzy Tank - Isaac Mizrahi
The Utility Jacket - J Crew's Jenna Lyons (I'm more taken by the girl coming through the door - the one in the front - with the heels and checked button down and then the yellow bag on the far right - LOVE)

The Spicy Palette - O Magazine's Creative Director Adam Glassman

Ralph Lauren Fall 2010

Mr. Lauren has nothing if not a point of view, he has infiltrated every part of our wardrobe and home.  Amazing staying power and an amazing brand. I liked this collection, but I felt like I've seen it all before, which is good and bad.  It's just not me, however I found a couple of looks that caught my eye.  No matter what, I still am a fan (Spring 2010 was great - see my post here):

Lovely gowns in this collection, as usual.  I'm sure we'll see some of these on a red carpet near you.  What caught my eye:
