Color Inspiration - Pink and Orange

I'm currently crushing on the colors pink and orange.  You probably have already figured this out if you have clicked over to my blog's home page lately (if you read this only in Google Reader, then click over really fast and you'll see what I mean).  When paired up, they are just so vibrant, happy, and energizing.  Here are some examples of what I mean.  What do you think, are you a fan of this combination?

My Five - Chris Benz Spring 2012

Some really great prints in this collection - lots of mixing of color, pattern, texture.  Not my favorite collection from him, but still some really strong pieces that I wouldn't mind taking home

My Five - Chado Ralph Rucci Spring 2012

Another technically amazing collection from Ralph Rucci.  He's one of my favorites that appeal to the geek side of my brain.  His clothes are so well tailored. Here are my picks - enjoy!

Happy Weekend!

I don't know about you, but I'm so happy today is Friday.  Can you believe next Thursday is Thanksgiving?  This is going to be a quick post because I'm getting ready for a big weekend involving family and friends.  That's what I love about this time of year!

How fab are these necklaces from Giles & Brother by Philip Crangi?  They are pricey, but I can dream, can't I?

On an unrelated note, I just found out that one of my friends (and former co-workers) had some photographs of her paintings purchased by NBC and were used on the new show "Prime Suspect".  It was on one of the episodes that aired in September so I missed it, but how cool is that?  Go and check out her work at her Etsy store Petrocy Studios - she's a super talented artist, knitter and jewelry maker.  Here are some favorites of mine from her store.

Have a great weekend!

My Five - Bottega Veneta Spring 2012

Not an outstanding collection, but a solid one full of wearable, understated luxurious clothes.  Here are my picks:

I wanna see this bag up close - it looks like clear plastic fading into leather?  I don't know, but I like!

This would be good inspiration for a quilt or the like:

What I Wore Wednesday!

I'm joining up with The Pleated Poppy for another WIWW!
pleated poppy

Here are a couple of outfits I've worn recently, I've been a slacker in yoga pants recently with my girl sick and home from preschool and then of course I got sick too.  It's that time of year.

Cardigan - Missoni for Target
Tank - Target
Jeans - Gap (thrifted) - I'm thinking about getting these hemmed, because I can only really wear them with high heels, but then it's nice to have jeans that are long enough to wear with heels (even though that's few and far between these days) I just can't decide.
Shoes - Kors Michael Kors
Necklace - House of Harlow

Jacket - Gene Meyer
Top - Old Navy
Pants - J.Crew (thrifted)
Shoes - Toms

Blazer - Gap
T-Shirt - J.Crew
Pants - J.Crew (thrifted)
Necklace - Anthropologie
Shoes - Naturalizer

Make sure you head over and check out what everyone else is wearing!

Styling Request - Couple of Sweaters

Recently a good friend contacted me to get my take on how to style a couple of her sweaters.  Sometimes a new set of eyes is a great way to find new ways to wear something.

One sweater is a V-neck, tunic style and the other has a cowl neck and kimono-ish sleeves.  Luckily, these are super versatile sweaters that can be dressed up or down, so it was fun!  I did a few versions for each sweater and I thought I would share.  First up the V-neck tunic style followed by the cowl neck.

My Five - Chanel Spring 2012

collection inspired by water and the sea with lots of pastels and white (it almost had an icy feel to me).  Again, Karl please edit - it's very repetitive at times, I don't like the dip down fronts/puff out sides.

Here are two things I think are important with this collection:

First - this iridescent, shimmery sequins (fabric treatment, whatever) - this is brilliant.  I love the turquoise/purple/pink way it catches the light.  Trend alert!

Second - this motif showed up on several outfits.  A sort of floating part of a square/rectangle line drawing.  I think this is quite interesting.
Here are the last three outfits I liked.  Time to bust out the silver shoes/sandals again!
