Emma Stone in Lanvin Spring 2011

Emma Stone looking mighty lovely in a dress from Lanvin's Spring 2011 (last seen on runway queen Karlie Kloss).  Love it!

24 of 30 - Stripes with a Side of Bloat

I must apologize for my face in these pictures, seriously.  What the heck is up?  Double chin - check, hair a mess - check, top bunching up around my bra - check.  I think my Reese's peanut butter cup addiction is taking it's toll on me - ha!  Yeah, I've been hitting the peanut butter cups hard lately, not good.  I'll blame my lack of willpower  PMS.

By the way, have you seen the bags of the super mini Reese's cups?  EVIL, they are pure evil!

23 of 30 - Turquoise and Black

Simple and easy outfit, doesn't get easier than a black tee and jeans - just jazzed up with some good ol' statement jewelry!  I'm a woman of few words today...

22 of 30 - Like A Tree

Ah, this was a good outfit - a comfy outfit.  As I was editing these pictures I noticed that I sort of look like a tree, all green on top and brown on the bottom.  I also noticed that I have some stains on this shirt that have appeared - boo.  And yeah, I ditched the cardigan as the day went on (again).

My Five - Kelly Wearstler Fall 2011

What?  Have we walked into a parallel universe where Interior Designers are designing clothes and Fashion Designers are designing interiors?  Oh wait, the latter has been happening for years.  Designing stuff for interiors seems like a natural evolution for the fashion flock - why wouldn't you want your home to be an extension of how you dress, or at least have the same feeling?  Going from interiors to fashion can be a bit trickier.  But if anyone can do it, our girl Kelly can, or at least make an honest go of it!  This collection is exclusive to Bergdorf's and will be placed in the "contemporary" category.  Which means it's not obscenely expensive, but not "affordable" to us regular Joes (think Tory Burch).  Here are my five faves, enjoy!

21 of 30 - Denim and Sparkles

I'm back!  Thanks for all the kind comments and words of encouragement about my little "out of control to do list" break.  I feel much more in control now.   I'm sure this feeling will pass soon though - ha!  Now back to the 30 for 30 outfit posts...

I can't believe it's only the second time I've worn this sweater.  I just love it, but again, let me tell you it's been a bit warm here, a little too warm for me to have worn this.  I must confess that I ditched it by the end of the day and ran around the house in the white tank and jeans.  I also really have a hard time wearing any necklace with this sweater other than this one.  They just fit so well together.

Bear with me...

Image via Harper's Bazaar

I'm having one of "those" weeks - where everything is piling up and becoming extremely overwhelming.  Here's just a sampling of my to do list:
  1. Study for and take a midterm exam before Thursday (finished 2/23!)
  2. Finish gathering information for a presentation due on Saturday   (finished that yesterday - whew!)
  3. Read 6 chapters to prepare for class Saturday
  4. Start drafting a contract for an assignment
  5. Daughter's doctor's appointment - which had to be changed to today because she is sick yet AGAIN and we are all at our wits end with no sleep and seemingly constant illness (finished 2/22 - everything is a-okay and good to go - got some answers and she's doing so much better!  Thanks for the well wishes!)
  6. Update resume and send in for evaluation (done!)
  7. Finish hanging and labeling my daughter's outgrown clothing for sale in the big consignment sale in a couple of weeks - there is A LOT and I have to order bar codes before the sale.
I seriously could go on and on - my paper to do list fills up a whole page and that's just for this week.  Have I mentioned that my house looks like we had a 3 day rave - ugh.  So bear with me while I take a blogging break so I can keep my head above water.  Don't worry I'm still doing the 30 for 30 and taking outfit pictures - just don't have time to edit them until probably Sunday.  And thank goodness I put a few short sleeve options in my 30 picks because it's been downright warm here - 80 yesterday and 76 today.  I'm not complaining, it's keeping me positive because it is absolutely gorgeous outside!  I'll be back at it in a few days, never fear!

My Five - Chris Benz Fall 2011

Hmm, I liked this collection, but not as much as some of his previous ones (here and here).  Nevertheless, there were some gems, here are my five favorite looks.  Enjoy!

20 of 30 - Tucker for Target, Again! Please?

10 outfits left people!  I can't believe it.  It's honestly flown by, but I have a feeling things are going to be a bit more challenging from here to #30.  I busted out the Tucker for Target blouse again, pushing the sleeves up so they are more short than long.  This is one great blouse, I'm secretly hoping for Tucker to do another Target line, even though usually those are just a one shot deal.  Darn.  I can still hope, can't I?

19 of 30 - Cobalt Blue and Stripes

Can you believe I'm almost 2/3 of the way into this challenge and I haven't worn this cardigan until now?  I can't.  It's so perfect at the moment with the weather - I'll be wearing the heck out of it this Spring for sure!  I adore this outfit, it's so comfortable, but the necklace and the shoes make it a bit more special.  I will say that as much as I love these black pants, it may be about time to retire them, they are fading and not fitting as well as they did pre-baby.  My mid-section isn't what it used to be - grrr!  I really need to embrace Pilates again, add that to my to do list...

18 of 30 - All About A Necklace and a Thank You!

My friend gave me this necklace about 4 years ago - the kicker here - she made it.  It makes any outfit a bit more special!  She also made me some pretty cool beaded peacock earrings that are total statement pieces.  I mean really, such talent!  Still finding that this cardigan is great for this time of year - it's thin, but not too thin, it keeps the chill out in the morning, but isn't too heavy for the mild afternoons.  Love it!

As for the Thank You - a couple of weeks ago I won a giveaway over at Bon Chic Bon Gastronomique for a custom t-shirt from Elephant in the Room baby boutique.  Well, I chose the fab Pearl necklaces and flower shirt.  I just got it in the mail and let me tell you it's adorable!

See what I mean?  I can't wait for my girl to wear it!  So a big Thank You to Shea and Malorie!
Have a great weekend!!!

My Five - Tory Burch Fall 2011

Nice collection, some beautiful prints and lovely flowy fabrics.  I'm not on board with large scale plaid pants and coats though, a little too Herb Tarlek for me (that's right, how many times does a style blogger reference "WKRP in Cincinnati"?  Not many, but they should - anyone else remember the Thanksgiving turkey drop episode?  No?  Well, go and watch it.  It's as classic as the "Mary Tyler Moore" "a little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants" - the clown funeral - episode.  Go forth and watch the classic sitcoms of long ago - you can thank me later.)  Maybe it's appropriate that I'm recalling classic 70's sitcoms, the 70's seems to be of great inspiration in fashion right now.  "If you, if you ever wonder.  Wonder, whatever became of me.  I'm living on the air in Cincinnati.  Cincinnati, WKRP..."  Don't mind me, just over here in my own little world!

Stylish Blogger Award

I was awarded the Stylish Blogger Award by not one, but two lovely ladies recently.  The fabulous Deb over at Dumbwit Tellher and the lovely Ms. Givens over at Trend Wisely.  I'm so honored!

So, here are the rules:

1. Link to the blogger(s) that gave you the award
2. Share 7 facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to other bloggers.

Here are 7 random facts about me:
  1. I've been on the roof of the Sears Tower - way back in the summer of '92 when I was working there - it was so surreal (and scary with the wind - eek).
  2. I love organizing closets and clothes, I could spend hours doing that. When I first saw Rachel Zoe's show and saw her workspace - I mean they get shipments of clothes from allover and would organize them for her to pull for clients, well I almost passed out, I would do that job for free!
  3. I hate to fly, hate it. I am a basket case from the time I see the plane until we land. I hide it well though - sometimes.
  4. I have had more than one person tell me I should do stand up comedy. I don't know about that, but I am quick with a cheeky remark :o)
  5. Mr. Rogers was my commencement speaker when I graduated from college.  He was an amazing and inspiring speaker.
  6. I love doing laundry.  LOVE it!
  7. I double majored in college - BS in Textiles and BS in Textile and Apparel Management both of which involved lots of math and lots of science (none of which I remember).  Writing up labs was one of my favorite things.  Yes, I can own up to my nerd tendencies :o)
Now that I've bored you all to tears (ha!), I am going to pass this award along to these super stylish ladies:

17 of 30 - Layers and Layers

Pretty straightforward outfit.  It's that time of year here in Georgia where it's chilly in the morning but in the 70's by the afternoon.  It's all about layers right now!  I'm a woman of few words today, feeling a bit burnt out for some reason.  But hey, the 30 for 30 is going really well and I can't believe I'm more than halfway through it.  So far so good...

Uniform Dressing 6:3

Okay, I'm back for one more!  This time we're going back to the reality of the weather and going with red sweaters and some layers.  I have just realized, after doing three Uniform Dressing posts about red pieces of clothing, that I have absolutely no red in my wardrobe.  I mean, I have a red winter coat, but it's old and really should be retired (the lining is in shreds) and my red shoes bit the dust a few months ago and I haven't replaced them yet.  Oh man, I miss my red shoes - I must remedy my lack of them soon!  Anyway, a lovely red cardigan would be a great addition.  Anyway, here are some styling ideas for red sweaters - enjoy!

I know, I know this next one isn't exactly red (more of a rust), but I just had to include it.  It's a great pop of color - perfect Spring or Fall look!
