A Bunch of Thank You's!

I've been really slack in giving a shout out to some giveaways that I've won over the past few months.  First off, way back in April (gah!) I won a 5x7 FLOR rug from La Dolce Vita.  I chose Martha Stewart's Faux Bois pattern, it is gorgeous and perfect in my daughter's room:
I love it and want to thank Paloma for hosting such an amazing giveaway!  Thanks!

Back in June, I won a $25 Push the Envelope Studio gift certificate from the very talented Kirsten over at 6th Street Design School.  I selected the chevron stripe cards with my name on them and some stickers with my daughter's name on them.  They are beautiful!  The super sweet and super talented Caroline at Push the Envelope was so easy to communicate with and got my stuff to me so quickly, check it out (ignore my crappy photography skills):
I will certainly be a repeat customer!

Earlier this month, I won a $25 gift certificate to Bellabini Boutique via the lovely ladies over at BonBon Rose Girls.  I'm not sure what I'm going to choose yet, but I'll let you know.

Also, earlier this month, I won a fab prize pack featuring at insulated tote and fleece picnic blanket over at A Townhouselady's Life, which are awesome.  No picture (I'm having issue uploading pictures lately since Blogger changed the pop up and I can't figure it out), but trust me they are awesome and I'm in love with the insulated tote!

I've been very lucky for sure and I'm super grateful for all the fab giveaways!!!  Thanks again everybody!!

Uniform Dressing 2:4

It's the final week of this month's jeans and t-shirt uniform.  I went cozy this week with cardigans and flats.  Remember, nothing is over $50.  Enjoy!

Next week begins another "uniform", stay tuned!

I want this! - Michael Kors Watch

It's been a long time since I've been eyeballing a new watch, I've been perfectly happy with my Hamilton Chatham my hubby got me as a gift years ago (similar, but mine is a different color).  Occasionally a watch will catch my fancy (hello, white ceramic Chanel J12 - just slightly out of my price range, ha!) but nothing makes me want to not stick with my trusty timepiece.  But this little Michael Kors number in "rose golden" is pulling me it's way.
I just love it!  Rose gold just feels so "right" at the moment.  But the $250 price tag does not - boo.  It's on my never ending wish list.

My Five - Alexander Wang Spring 2011

Lots of white in this collection with some yellows, oranges and not bright primary yellows and oranges, but more organic, natural hues along with some subtle blue and greens with some metallic accents.  It was a very relaxed silhouette with layers.  Here are the five looks I found interesting:

Happy Weekend and What's Going On

I teased last week that I'm getting ready to start school for a career change and that I would tell you all more about it.  Well, here we go.  Starting tomorrow (and every Saturday for the next six months) I'll be sitting in a classroom learning to be a paralegal.  Now this is something I never would have imagined myself doing, but honestly I need a change and I crave a more stable industry.  I've been a textile designer/stylist for 10+ years and the textile industry has been on the decline here for a while (the past 2 years have been a killer, I mean seriously, as bad as it gets) and as one of my friends joked, two people, both working in the textile industry should never be allowed to get married - one person is always going to be unemployed.  So if my husband and I want to live in the same state (and we have lived in different ones for our jobs) then one of us needs to change paths.  I'm not totally ditching my textile design work, I will find a way to still do that in some capacity sooner or later.  That's a threat and a promise - ha!

So why am I telling you all this and what does this all mean for the ol' blog?  Well, it means that I'm going to be posting probably only three times a week (if it's less then you know that school is kicking my ass - lol!  If it's more, well then notify Mensa).  So you won't be totally rid of me.  My goal is to keep going with the "uniform dressing" series, a few "my take's" here and there and my picks from the fashion shows.  I love this whole blogging thing way more than I should, I love all my readers and followers (thank you!), I love all my fellow bloggers and I crave the creative outlet this blog gives me.  But this must be the lowest priority during school (it is my hobby, it's not paying any bills for sure).  I will be back to daily posts eventually and I will be doing some behind-the-scenes work/experiments that I hope will enhance the blog in the next year or so.  Could that mean that I might actually start posting my outfits?!?!  Maybe, I'm a bit shy and not at all photogenic, however it is a goal so that may be in the future (my sister-in-law is a model so I might need to get some pointers).  Point is my wheels are turning and I plan on keeping this going.  I really appreciate you guys and thanks for reading, your comments make my day!!!  xoxo Jenny

My Five - Chris Benz Spring 2011

My picks from this collection.  Enjoy!

My Take: Victoria Beckham green with envy

Oh, you all know I adore Victoria and she showed off some fab outfits while she was in NY to show her Spring 2011 collection.  I really loved this Goat dress with Brian Atwood platform pumps.
Time for a "my take"!  I tried to get close to the color of the dress, I had to lean towards green more than turquoise, but made up for it with the cut.  I gave lots of shoe options, platform, flat, etc.  Love lots of options!

My Five - Marc Jacobs Spring 2011

I selected more than five looks from this collection (I know, I know), but I have good reason.  I want you to take note of the colors and color combinations.  Enjoy!

Uniform Dressing 2:3

Welcome to this week's installment of "uniform dressing"!  This week is all about blazers, dressed up blazers at that.  My little one has been sick for a week now (a cold that evolved into an ear infection - like they always seem to do) and I've been craving more dressed up clothes, instead of the super casual stuff I've had to wear knocking around the house with her.  I promise I'll mix it up more next week.  But for now, let's get to it!

Come back next week for the finale of the jeans and t-shirt uniform!

A Dash of Blue

If you've been reading this blog for a while then you know I've been tracking the blue that is all over now (and has been happening for a while).  I've heard it called "Yves Klein Blue" and "Matisse Blue", I usually refer to it as cobalt blue.  The easiest way I've found to integrate it into your wardrobe is with either a top or some shoes.  I'll refer you to the first installment of "uniform dressing" with the blue shoes (a trick of mine to spruce up a basic neutral outfit - it especially looks great with charcoal grey and black).  I decided to gather a few tops - long and short-sleeved, and some shoes - flats and heels, as examples.  Everything is under $100, have fun!

My Five - Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2011

A really happy, inspired collection for Tommy's 25 years in business!  Here are my picks:

My Take: Julianne Hough casual travel

Nothing terribly groundbreaking about this look (other than the fact she's dating Ryan Seacrest and for some reason that seems odd to me).
But look closer, at her shoes.  Yeah, fabulous, I'm in LOVE!  So much so that I decided to do a "my take".  I couldn't find the shoes, but tried to come close.  Enjoy!
