Red Tights and Red Shoes Spring 2010

I'm trying to clean up images that are on the computer that I have randomly saved for the past few months.  I'm not sure why I saved these and I'm not positive about the specific Spring 2010 collections they are from (though I think the first one is from Valentino), but I must have thought the red tights with red shoes were interesting in some capacity, especially if two different designers showed the look.  I'm not on board but, would you wear red tights with red shoes?

I want this! - Emersonmade Spring Clutch

Oh, I am in love with the zebra clutch with the yellow flower (top) - just perfect.  Of course I need a clutch like I need a hole in the head, so doesn't fit my lifestyle at the moment.  *sigh*

I'm a winner!!!

Yay!  Nesting Newbies posted a picture of me with all my great swag from their Winter Bluebird Bag giveaway today.  Pop on over to check it out and also their fab nesting magazine.  A new bag giveaway will be ready soon, so make sure you keep checking back so you can enter.  See people really do win these things!

And yes, all the stuff is so great and so useful.  Don't you love the bird print pillow and the great flower photograph (that will be hung in my daughter's room)?  Just so happy!

What I bought today

I know, I know, here we go again, but I just wanted to share a couple of additional things I purchased this past weekend.  Mostly basics, the Gap was having a major sale and I got some great deals (like a black blazer - similar to the one shown - marked down to $11.99 from $88 - yeah!).

Now, let's see how well I put all of these things together!  Stay tuned...

Monday blahs

Yeah, this post is so late, but I'm suffering from a case of the Monday blahs.  I guess that's what you would call them.  You know, when you have a lot to do but can't seem to accomplish one thing?  Oh well, one thing did perk me up today - my dress from Sunday Brunch arrived.  Seriously, I ordered it Friday and it got here today - top notch customer service - just see how it looked when I opened the box:
Cute! (don't be jealous of my mad photography skillz)

It's a perfect fit and I love it!  Yay!

Happy Weekend!

I just love this image, what a happy kitchen, one you wouldn't mind washing dishes in - LOL!
Hope you all have a very happy weekend!

Another purchase!

How totally self indulgent the past two posts have been, please bear with me.  I finally used the giveaway gift certificate for Sunday Brunch I won from Bits of Beauty (blogged about here) and I'm happy to say the Raquelle Golden Slumbers dress is on it's way to me!  It's funny because when I first won the certificate I picked this dress out as my favorite, then of course I forgot and procrastinated, etc.  Well, it turns out the dress is now on sale.  Yay!  So it all worked out for the best.  I should give a shout out to Judy at Sunday Brunch who has been totally amazing and helpful and so sweet.  I love good customer service!

What I bought today!

Well, we had a little extra moola in our budget, which meant I could do a little (much needed) clothes shopping!  I can honestly say that I have done little to no shopping since the little one was born.  I really wanted to be able to fit back into what I had and go from there.  I also struggled with what I could/should wear as a stay-at-home mom.  The first 6 months of my daughter's life I pretty much had to live in crappy t-shirts and sweat pants since she had major acid reflux.  Not to be too graphic, but she threw up all the time, seriously most of the clothes I wore then I had to throw away.  A couple of months ago I did some major editing in my closet, I got rid of a bunch of things I no longer wanted or needed (and things that weren't ever going to look good on me no matter if I was back to my pre-baby weight or not - let's face it ladies the body changes a lot after a baby, even if you are at your pre-baby weight).  So I now have a fairly clean slate and am eager to start building up the wardrobe again.  I was really inspired by the super fab Jill over at The Good Life For Less using her blog to sort of help me find my way again (a big "Thank You!" to her).  Okay, so here's what I ordered today:

I also went ahead and purchased the Cynthia Vincent for Target yellow sandals (below) I blogged about here

I'm super excited to be able to spruce up my look a bit.  I still have some shopping to do, I'll keep you in the loop about what else I buy!

Oh and I didn't post yesterday because the little one decided it would be a great time to attack my hubby's laptop - while I was using it - and a bunch of the keys popped off.  I got most of them back on, but I'm sorry to say the H key is gone forever.  Using the laptop is really weird without that plastic bit over it, but it'll have to do for now.   Kiddos keep you on your toes for sure!

High Point Market Spring 2010 Fashion Report

The High Point Market Authority has released their fashion report for the Spring 2010 market.  For the complete report go here.  It's funny I was talking with my BFF about how we totally have forgotten that Furniture Market is happening right now.  Years ago, when we were designing fabrics for the residential market, our lives used to revolve around it.  I do miss it, but boy my feet don't - LOL!

I want this! - Cynthia Vincent and Eugenia Kim for Target

*Update* I had to order the sandals online - they should be here soon!  Very excited!!

I'm totally digging a couple of items from Target's two newest designer colaborations.  First are these awesome yellow sandals:

Next this adorable grey hat:

Eugenia Kim for Target striped straw cloche in grey - $? (can't figure out the price 'cause the darn thing is already sold out - but you can look it up and see if it's in a store near you)

Happy Weekend!

Well, you all know I've had a challenging week, glad it's all but over.  In the midst of it all I forgot to share some good news.  A little backstory, my hubby went to the Masters last year and brought home 3 of the green plastic Masters cups that have become quite useful during our temporary housing situation.  Fast forward to last week, hubby went to the Masters again and I gave him marching orders to get more of those cups (we need more, you know to complete our tres chic collection).  Well he came through!  We are so high end, don't be jealous - LOL!  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

What a week...

This is not how my daughter and I look this week (or ever - ha!)  It's so sweet and yet so foreign to me.  In my family's version the little girl would have red hair sticking up in all directions running full speed and I would be in flats and pants (most likely a stain of some sort on them) running after her. In other words, we would just be a messy blur!  Ah, the toddler years...

...it's been one of those "Why-did-I-get-out-of-bed-I-need-a-vacation-NOW" weeks, the bad news is that it's only Wednesday.  After a totally heinous trip to the park yesterday morning that involved me falling on my butt in mud while holding the little one (we are okay, I'm a bit sore, but no major physical injury.  Mental - well that's another story - LOL!) and trying to get some work done on a couple of projects I have in the works, which has been all but impossible.  Mama said there would be days/weeks like this...

Home Shopping Fun! - Twiggy LONDON on HSN

Yes, THAT Twiggy.  The legendary 1960's supermodel/icon has a new line of clothing and accessories for HSN, it premiered earlier this month.  Well, overall there are some cute things, but not much that's my style.  However, there are a few cute items that caught my eye.  I sort of wish I saw the show itself, maybe next time.  Here are my picks (sorry for the small pictures):
Straight Cuff Stretch Legging with Studded Hem - $34.90 (available in black and navy blue)
Patent Union Tote - $79.90 (available in black, chocolate, hot pink, pistachio and navy - pictured)
Satin Ballet Flats with Jewels - $44.90 (available in black, navy, pink and red - pictured)

Great rugs on One Kings Lane today

Sure, these rugs are from The Rug Market Kids (and some are certainly directed at the kiddos) but they are fab!  They are on the small side, but who doesn't need a smaller rug every now and then, especially at such good prices!  Check them out over at One Kings Lane (let me know if you want an invite and I'll get you one).

I want this! - Every Cloud print

I'm totally on board with this print and it's message.  We all need to be reminded of this during difficult times.  (It's also a great alternative to the - I may be slapped for saying this - tired "Keep Calm" print - it's a great print, but personally, I'm sick of seeing it).  Find it here.

Image via Keep Calm Gallery - no the irony of the shop name isn't lost on me, they have a lovely array of the "Keep Calm" prints in lots of colors if you are interested and don't want to slap me - LOL!

Love Julie Bowen's home featured in April 2010 InStyle

Julie Bowen's home (featured in the April 2010 InStyle) is great - I've said this before, about other homes too - not 100% my style, but I love bits and pieces.  It's a fun mix of things and kid friendly.  Her sister, Interior Designer, Molly Luetkemeyer designed the space.  Of course I was a bit slow in my post (all my posts) this week and the divine SHELTER blog beat me to the punch - go here to see her fabulous post about this house.  Oh snap, I gotta up my bloggin' game!  LOL!

Julianne Moore is one class act

Indulge me for a second while a take a trip down memory lane.  Waaaaay back in the mid-1980's I watched all the soaps on CBS, oh yes I did - The Young and the Restless (which I still watch on occasion *ahem*, don't judge me), As The World Turns, Guiding Light and yeah, I watched The Bold and The Beautiful when it first aired.  But let's get back to the soon-to-be-off-the-air As The World Turns.  Back then Julianne Moore was just starting out and she played duel characters on the show "Frannie" and her look alike cousin/sister/whatever "Sabrina" (cue "The Patty Duke Show" music - "...but they're cousins, identical cousins..." - if you remember that I give you mega props).  Well, I loved her on the show, I loved the characters, it was just all around good times - in 1988 she won a daytime Emmy for the role.  Fast forward to this past Monday 4/5 when Julianne Moore came back for one show as "Frannie".  Well, even though I don't watch the show anymore, I had to tune in.  And there she was, towards the end of the show - not for very long, sort of a "walk-on" deal.  She looked divine and honestly looked so happy to see the people she worked with so many years ago.  It was a classy thing to do, not many actors of her caliber would go back to daytime, where they started, even for one episode.  But she did, and she did it out of her love for the show and her time on it and also to say goodbye.  I've always liked her as an actress, but now I like her even more, what a classy lady!

Here's a clip if you are interested (my lame self totally cried when I watched - I'm such a dork).

I want this! - Jonathan Adler Seahorse Lamp

I must be in serious need of a vacation at the beach, because the minute I saw this lamp I fell in love.  Jonathan Adler Seahorse lamp - $295.  (sorry for the small picture - but you get the idea).

On an unrelated note, I hope everyone had a lovely Easter/long weekend.  We've gotten a bit off schedule and mixed up (the little one has decided to boycott her daytime naps which has been a challenge, I'm hoping it's just a phase and the naps will kick back in soon).  My blogging may be a bit random for the rest of the week.  :o)

Home Shopping Fun! - Rachel Zoe on QVC

Well, admittedly I didn't get to watch her when she was on, I did go and check out some of the new items.  The collection is okay, not great, not horrible - just okay.  But I did find myself really liking the scarves, they look like they are good quality.  What do you think?
Navajo Jacquard Scarf - $35 (this is my personal favorite)
